Candice Houlihan, A-rod, and Tattoo Art
Today, an ex-exotic dancer turned hairdresser named Candice Houlihan, revealed her steamy affair with heavy hitting Yankee’s third baseman Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez, while his wife was pregnant with their first baby in 2004.
This is relevant to tattoo art because it brought A-Rod back into the public eye. In November of ’07, to show his allegience to the Yankees, he got ink in the shape of a pinstripe t-shirt complete with the New York Yankee’s logo on his upper left pectoral.
Tattoo art that big is very expensive, and even though A-Rod didn’t get it filled in or coloured, it still would’ve cost a pretty penny.
The risks would also be a little hard to weigh when you’re so dedicated to a team, as there are a lot of tattoo parlours that don’t follow the complete sterilization methods established by laws that are hardly ever enforced. The potential for dirty needles doing some damage gets higher the larger your tattoo is.
Not only that, but getting that much work done all at once would be hard to take care of as it healed, not to mention painful. My advice would be, if you’re getting such a large piece of tattoo art, to get it done in several parts and let each part completely heal before you move on to the next. This will make maintaining your tattoos much easier.
Make sure the tattoo parlour you go to get your tattoo art done in is a reputable one with a good track record for cleanliness. There are a few places online that recommend clean places so be sure to check them out.
