@level9statedept Yeah its just to bad that they got beat anyway and Illinois goes down in the books as being second to Tar Heels who continued to win and get another championship while the Illini just plainly went downhill from 05′, oh well. Go Heels!

Ppl are still crying about this game? LOL. All I see is how the refs favored UNC the whole game & allowed Sean May to run roughshod over Illini post men. I guess nobody saw all the illegal/moving screens that Illinios was setting all night to get open 3′s which kept them in the game. I mean Billy Packer is a known UNC hater & even he could see it for goodness sake.
It’s just NOT POSSIBLE that the better team lost.Thats what I love about sports,you cant dispute W’s or L’s,they played UNC won ILL lost, which means UNC was the better team.

@level9statedept : You people need to let it the hell go. It was 5 damn years ago. No “freebies” were given, and no favoritism was shown. Illinois lost because North Carolina was the better team. The best team did not “almost” overcome, they did overcome! The best team that year was the team that holds the 2005 NCAA Championship trophy. #thatisall
@SyrenniaLestrange Take away the 9 offensive fouls “not called” on Sean May….times the 3 phantom fouls on James Augestine…divided by the refs association rewarding Roy Williams years of “service” not being a jerkoff every game and it equals a NC championship….and still the best team almost overcame.
