@whoisit87 UVa fans defending this? There is no defense. As a UVa almost-grad, this pisses me off at least as much as other school’s fans. This asshole put a black eye on my school, which was stubborn in reacting/punishing it. He should’ve been canned for the season. No defense, no subjectivity. This hit was tantamount to the McSorley hockey hit. I would’ve fully supported the BC guy if he wanted to press criminal charges and sue for damages.
@1992football1 I went to UVa and no, UVa isn’t unclassy, but this vicious hit (and the football programs’ insufficient reaction to it) does make UVa less classy. That’s just how it is. One bad apple can, and should, spoil the bunch and demand very strong reaction from their bosses. Abu Ghraib anyone? haha politics
Not just “an awful cheap shot” either, this is the worst cheap shot I’ve ever seen. Butler didn’t get anywhere near the just desserts he should’ve.
@chris6418 he was only in the game because the starter was injured as one other poster mentioned. It was a regrettable incedent and I’m ashamed that an incedent like that is associated with UVa. Both the act itself and the response by coach Al Groh of leaving Butler in the game were classless and selfish but now Groh is gone and hopefully with new coach Mike London incedents such as this will be avoided.

That wasn’t cheap at all. As a white player, the o-lineman had every right to defend himself from the ape with the bumb knee. And then the other monkey wearing 56 couldn’t help but to use violence for no reason whatsoever, it’s just how he was raised. I’m suprised the 2 BC players weren’t killed on the spot.
