love my Bruins but GO TIGERS …. well deserved after getting shafted in 89 vs Georgetown then nearly taking down Arkansas another year. Cinderella finally got her glass slipper.

Coach Carrill got his big win.

Love his book. “The Smart Take from the Strong”

I love this video and I love the memories of NCAA tourneys from years past but sadly its not the same these days….Even the 15 and 16 seeds are better then the 15 and 16 seeds 15 or 20 years ago…Truth be told, this UCLA Princeton game was an upset…But had Princeton beat Georgetown in the 1989 East Regional first round (they lost 50-49) now THAT would have been a bigger upset…

  3. Stevensong12 says:

Arizona. They were a 3-seed in that tournament.

  4. UncoolNegated says:

  6. jre52301 says:

Wow thats pretty cool that you picked it. It may be the biggest one you ever pick! Memorable game.

If all of the YouTube videos were like this,

  13. seemeinHD says:

about to say cuz my team won it in 80 :P

  14. rhat111 says:

UCLA wasn’t #1 and they weren’t the #1 team from the Pac-10 that year.

It was a 13 beating a 4, just like San Diego beating UConn and Siena beating Vanderbilt this year. Not exactly the end of the world.

  15. w00tdocta says:

    sorry, 1983

  16. w00tdocta says:

jim valvano coach for n.c. state…that was when they won the tournament in 1980
he was a great guy who later died of cancer

  17. leftygrove123 says:

whos that guy running on the courtat 0:25

  18. saxed says:

That Dean Smith quote Gus uses in the beginning is a great one…

  19. stevensong says:

I agree, but I think it has to do with the fact that UCLA is UCLA (11 National Championships, etc.) and Princeton is from the Ivy League.

  20. lordofwrath88 says:

If you’re a team from the IVY league and beat a #1 ranker, #1 team from the Pac-10, UCLA, its a friggin upset.

  22. staylo06 says:

What’s the song starting at 2:26?

  23. asearle2 says:

    enter princeton.

    fantastic.

  24. sctrojan12 says:

It was an upset by seed, but that Princeton team was better than their seed and UCLA was ripe for a 1st round upset.

  25. maroth86 says:

how is it not an upset? that’s idiotic to say this wasn’t an upset. I don’t even think Princeton had won a tournament game in at least 15 years.
