The King Along with Nike Air Max
The Nike Air Max shoe uses a large air cushioning unit at the heel which is visible from the side of the midsole in most models. Different types of Air Max cushioning include “Nike Air Max2″ which does not have the “holes” in the cushioning unit and is of high pressure, “Tube Air” which is visible in several small circles on the midsole of the shoe, “Total Air” which is basically just another word for full Nike Air Max cushioning, “Tuned Air,” which is a system of individual pods supposedly “tuned” to different areas of the foot. Air in the early 1990s which was visible through the bottom of the shoe (although smaller portions of Air units are visible through the bottom of many Air Max models) and another type of Air cushioning is the low profile and very responsive “Zoom Air.”
The King–LeBron James took time out of his busy schedule to get dinner out in West Hollywood this past week with some friends and was spotted by papparazzi while leaving the restaurant. LeBron James, at the center of the biggest sports-related media circus of the decade, recently made even more headlines when he took out an ad in the Akron Beacon Journal thanking his fans and supporters from Akron – not Cleveland. During his night out, LeBron wore a pair of Triple Black Nike Air Max Griffey 1′s while walking out of dinner. It was only a year ago that LeBron was spotted leaving a club in LA wearing the Fresh Water colorway of the same shoe, although this is more of a coincidence than a personal trend. Give your two cents after the jump.
The attention surrounding James’s Nike Air Max LeBron VIIhas seemingly died down ever since LeBron exited the playoffs; however, there is much more basketball to be played now that the summer is here. With that said, we have spotted a Nike Air Max LeBron VII that created exclusively for the AAU basketball teams James sponsors during the summer.
At a first glance, this shoe may look very familiar seeing that it was revealed at the second annual Golt Sole event in Cleveland in mid-April. This colorway, which is exclusive to LeBron’s King James Shooting Stars AAU team, features a colorway that is very similar to the original Nike Air Max LeBron VII. Black/white flywire side panels are off set by a white leather base and multiple red hints throughout the upper. It also contains a red, full-length Air sole unit and a white outsole. If you’re ever in the same gym with the King James Shooting Stars AAU team, don’t be surprised to see them in these.
Recently at LeBron’s King’s Academy Camp in San Diego. He is spotted wearing a blacked out version of the Nike Air Max LeBron VIII which seems to feature a dual-textured construction (leather, nubuck). What are your thoughts on this sneaker so far?
